Cha – More Than Just a Cup

From the foggy mornings of Darjeeling to the bustling adda of College Street, cha is not just a beverage, it's a language, a tradition, a habit we never question. It's the unsaid promise between friends, the quiet companion to our deepest thoughts, and the loudest voice in our happiest moments

So why do we call it CHA?

Because history whispers it. The word ‘Cha’ comes from the Chinese ‘chá’ (茶), a name that traveled across seas and centuries, finding its way into Bengali hearts. While the British called it ‘tea, We kept it raw, unfiltered, and real, just like our city, our people, and our stories.

In Kolkata, Cha isn’t just tea- it’s an emotion. It’s the first sip on a rainy afternoon, the warmth in a matir bhaar (traditional clay cups) and an excuse for five more minutes of gossip.
